AWARD RECIPIENTS

The types of individuals that have been awarded a GritGrant have one common trait – they never quit no matter what. From students that have come to the United States not speaking a word of English, students that have lost their parents or grandparents to illness and death, students overcoming severe physical or mental disabilities, students that were physically and/or sexually abused, students that had parents abandon them, students that were forced to leave school to raise younger siblings, students living in extreme poverty, no matter their circumstance, GritGrant recipients impressed their teacher(s) and peers by demonstrating hard-work, resilience, perseverance and dedication to overcome their obstacles.
