What is a GritGrant?

GritGrants are made possible through the generosity and support of two organizations: The McKenzie Foundation and Uncharted Learning.

GritGrants are cash awards that recognize students who overcome adversity to reach their goals. The award winners motivate others not to quit no matter the difficulty. Multiple high school students throughout the United States receive a $2,500 cash award with no strings attached. In addition to the monetary portion of the award, each student is presented with a crystal octagon plaque with their name, the name of the recommending high school and an inscription that reads: “Whose actions motivate others to never quit no matter the obstacle.”
